Gibraltar is a beautiful location to work in. It has a Mediterranean climate, breath taking landscapes, beautiful beaches!

British Overseas Territory at the southern most tip of the Iberian Peninsula, easily reached in just over 2 hours (flying time) from London, Bristol or Manchester airports. English is the official main language with Spanish widely spoken.

The post holder will be working as part of the team of three Consultants. There are five theatres including a dedicated Day Case Unit and offer DGH level ENT, Maxillofacial Surgery, Dental Surgery, General Surgery (including colorectal and bariatric), Urology, Orthopaedics & Trauma, Gynae & Obs, Ophthalmics and Chronic Pain giving the successful applicant a varied clinical workload. On call duties are currently 1 in 3 off site, whereby Consultants are called for advice, review of admissions and urgent assessments of patients in the Emergency Department.

Main Duties:

  • Work with colleagues to provide a Consultant led service with the highest standard of care.
  • Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain good working practices with wards, outpatients and the ED department.
  • Clinical skills in all aspects of ENT surgery
  • Able to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems within ENT surgery

Requirements:

  • Full GMC Registered with a Licence to Practice
  • Be on the GMC Specialist Register for ENT
  • Applicants must , by virtue of their citizenship or residence status, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar and who are, or on employment will be resident in Gibraltar.
  • Non-EU nationals should note that a Schengen Visa is required in order to be able to transit through Europe. This is obtained from the applicant’s place of residence. Please note that Schengen Visas cannot be obtained through Gibraltar.
  • Experience within Otology

Total Reumeraiton including on-calls £146,628.30 to £180,922.30 per annum (based on experience).
