Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Procedure Care: Perform patient assessments, gather medical histories, ensure necessary lab tests are completed, and educate patients on the procedure and expectations.
- Intra-Procedure Support: Assist in catheterization procedures by preparing and monitoring equipment, assisting the physician during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor vital signs during procedures and adjust care as necessary to ensure patient stability and safety.
- Post-Procedure Care: Provide recovery room care, monitor patients for complications, assist with wound care, and educate patients on post-procedure instructions.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to act quickly and competently in emergencies, including managing arrhythmias, allergic reactions, or other complications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, anaesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care, procedures, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
