About the Role NLG Pathways is seeking an experienced and passionate Education & Curriculum Lead to lead the academic provision for young people aged 11 to 16 within our Alternative Provision service.
This is a key leadership role responsible for curriculum design, quality of education, teaching, assessment and staff development. You will create engaging and flexible learning pathways that support academic progress, boost engagement, and help students successfully reintegrate into mainstream education.
What You'll Be Doing Leading curriculum development and educational provision across the service
Designing innovative and inclusive learning pathways
Delivering teaching, tuition and targeted interventions
Driving high-quality teaching, assessment and student progress
Leading and supporting education staff
Developing strong literacy and numeracy provision
Monitoring educational outcomes and quality assurance processes
Working closely with families, schools and external agencies to support reintegration
About You We're looking for an experienced educator and leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
Strong curriculum, assessment and teaching knowledge
Experience teaching students aged 11 to 16
Ability to inspire, engage and support students with additional barriers to learning
Desirable:
Experience within Alternative Provision or specialist settings
Experience supporting students with SEMH, EBSA or attendance challenges
Curriculum leadership or quality assurance experience
Experience managing or coaching staff
