Additional Information: Under the direction of the Area Cleaning Manager, plan, organise and control the work of cleaning supervisors across a number of individual buildings to ensure that service delivery meets specification within planned costs.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Cleaning Manager
JOB PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Area Cleaning Manager, plan, organise and control the work of cleaning supervisors across a number of individual buildings to ensure that service delivery meets specification within planned costs. Directly supervise 'one cleaner' buildings e.g. Libraries.

KEY AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES:
- Improve and sustain performance and gain the involvement of all staff in the identification and implementation of improved methods, practices and procedures.
- Identify skill needs and assist in the implementation of training programmes to meet them.
- Advise the Cleaning Manager on the performance of all resources and put forward suggestions for future changes/development.
- Establish appropriate and effective working relationships with customers/clients and liaise on cleaning standards and operational problems.
- Ensure that optimum staffing levels are maintained and that arrangements for the provision of relief staff are adequate.
- Monitor staff attendance levels.
- Directly supervise those small buildings where no supervision is provided for.
- Ensure cost effective use of all resources.
- Monitor finished work against specification and instigate corrective action where necessary.
- Ensure that cleaning supervisors are aware of & comply with their statutory duties under Health and Safety legislation.
- Advise the Cleaning Manager on personnel issues which arise.
- Carry out administrative tasks associated with the post.

Section 1 - Essential Criteria
The following are essential criteria which will initially be measured at the shortlisting stage and which may also be further explored during the interview/selection stage. You should therefore make it clear on your application form how, and to what extent you meet these criteria. Failure to do so may result in you not being shortlisted.
- Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC National or two ‘A’ levels or equivalent or higher examination and have one year’s demonstrable experience in the delivery of a multi-site cleaning or similar operational service; OR have two year’s demonstrable experience in the delivery of a multi-site cleaning or similar operational service.
- Demonstrable experience of engaging a wide range of stakeholders to support the delivery of an operational service to ensure a customer centric approach.
- Demonstrable experience in identifying training needs and the delivery of training programmes.
- Demonstrable experience of staff management processes.
- Demonstrable experience in the use of computer packages, to include use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Section 2 - Essential Criteria

- Proven ability to successfully prioritise and deliver a busy workload.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret information.
- Ability to provide a customer service orientated approach in service delivery.

Section 3 - Desirable Criteria
