Why work for us? We are transforming how we market the Motorpoint Arena and National Ice Centre and are looking for progressive and creative marketing professionals to join us on the journey. Our sister venue is the National Ice Centre, where our community comes together for ice sports across figure, synchro, speed skating, and ice hockey. Whether you're a family enjoying skating for fun, or a budding professional gliding in the footsteps of our local heroes Torvill and Dean, we provide the UK's best ice sports experience. Our purpose is to create joyful experiences. Our marketing team is responsible for engaging with our one million visitors from the start to the end of their experience with our venues, encouraging them to visit again, and finding new audiences to enjoy our shows and events.
What will you be doing? We’re looking for a Senior Designer to bring the Motorpoint Arena and National Ice Centre to life through bold, audience‑first creative that supports our Joy brand strategy. You’ll play a key role in shaping how people feel, connect and engage with our venues, turning every touchpoint into an opportunity to spark excitement, anticipation and memorable experiences. Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, you’ll sit at the heart of a fast‑moving live entertainment business, driving standout creative output while helping evolve and strengthen our visual identity across all channels. Your time will be roughly spent 35% on strategic development and 65% on operational execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Bring our brand to life across every customer touchpoint, embedding and evolving the principles of our brand strategy to create consistency, energy and emotional impact.
- Design high‑impact creative across a wide mix of channels including venue signage, posters, advertising, digital screens, social media, e‑mails, presentations and campaigns.
- Develop seasonal campaigns and promotional creative that capture attention, drive engagement and deliver commercial results.
- Lead the creation of compelling photography, video and motion content that captures the excitement, atmosphere and joy of our venues.
- Shape the visual identity of premium hospitality, food & beverage and live events experiences, ensuring they feel distinctive and experience‑led.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to turn briefs into powerful creative that delivers both emotional resonance and commercial impact.
- Bring fresh ideas, storytelling and creative thinking that actively enhance audience experience and support the delivery of our brand strategy.
- Help refine and evolve creative processes, ensuring speed, consistency and quality across everything we produce.
What are we looking for? You might already be operating as a Senior Designer, or you could be a high‑performing Middleweight Designer ready to step up into a more influential, creatively driven role. We’re looking for a confident, ideas‑led creative who thrives on producing work that not only looks great but makes people feel something. You’ll have:
- Strong, versatile design skills across digital and print with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience using industry‑standard creative tools and platforms.
- A strong understanding of branding, layout, typography and visual storytelling.
- Confidence managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders across different teams.
- A proactive, energetic approach with the confidence to push ideas and elevate creative output.
Like all good creatives, you will have a curious mind and continually think about how customers engage with all forms of communication. Your mindset will be strategic but with an eye for the detail of operational execution. Above all, you’ll thrive in a high‑energy live events environment, enjoy making bold creative decisions, and take real pride in bringing ideas to life at speed and scale, all in service of delivering Joy for our audiences.
