Job summary: We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Surveyor to specialise in House Type Approvals and develop their expertise to become a recognised authority in this dynamic and rapidly evolving field. In this role, the Senior Surveyor will play a key part in shaping the future of housing, setting industry standards, and ensuring that every project meets the highest levels of safety and compliance.
What you’ll be doing:
- This is a key opportunity for a Senior Surveyor to specialise in House Type Approvals and become a go-to expert in this dynamic field.
- You’ll help shape the future of housing, drive industry standards, and ensure projects meet the highest levels of safety and compliance.
- Working with a skilled team, you’ll develop specialist knowledge in this niche area of building control—managing risk and ensuring that warranty products and applications meet all statutory and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with NHBC and HSE requirements for personal safety and that of others.
- Deliver technical presentations to both internal and external customers where required.
- Assist with training, coaching and mentoring of others as required.
- Manage own workload and allocated tasks by Inspection Manager and Peer Group 1-3 builders to ensure relevant SLA’s are achieved.
- Take responsibility for the assessment of building regulation and warranty applications for residential developments and associated non-residential uses typically over 11 metres high.
- Assist in implementing business efficiencies and opportunities for growth of the business.
What we’re looking for:
- Senior level experience in the building / construction industry.
- Experience of plan appraisal of residential developments and associated non-residential uses.
- Experience in training and mentoring.
- IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programs.
- Wider knowledge of Technical Operation SOPs, company Systems & processes.
- Thorough knowledge of NHBC SOPS and systems relevant Specialism.
- Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution.
- Relevant accredited HND/HNC qualification or substantial industry experience.
