This role will attract a job-needs car, subject to NHBC’s annual mileage requirement. Please note: this role is subject to a DBS background check, carried out as part of our pre-employment screening. A full DVLA check will also be required for this role.
We’re looking for a passionate Senior Trainer to lead the delivery of our Groundworks Apprenticeship Programme at Northstowe. You’ll deliver engaging and high-quality apprenticeship training focused on groundworks, ensuring learners are fully supported from enrolment through to End Point Assessment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll make a real impact, developing skills, promoting excellence, and maintaining NHBC’s commitment to outstanding training provision across the sector.
No teaching qualifications? No problem. We welcome skilled tradespeople ready to take the next step. NHBC provides a structured initial teacher training programme to fully prepare you for success in this role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering high-quality groundworks apprenticeship training and assessment to ensure learners achieve their full potential.
- Working closely with employers and apprentices to support progress, provide feedback, and maintain strong engagement throughout the programme.
- Keeping training materials current and aligned with industry standards, NHBC requirements, and regulatory bodies such as Ofsted and ESFA.
- Supporting continuous improvement in apprenticeship delivery through curriculum development, learner support, and feedback reporting.
- Promoting NHBC’s training offer across the construction sector, helping to raise standards and strengthen industry partnerships.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience delivering successful apprenticeship training, ideally within the construction or housebuilding sector.
- A solid technical background in groundworks, with relevant trade qualifications (minimum Level 2).
- Teaching or assessing qualifications (or working towards them) and experience supporting learners to End Point Assessment.
- Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to adapt training to suit different learning styles.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and confidence using digital tools for learner tracking and reporting.
- A full driving licence and a passion for helping others develop their skills and careers.
