We’re looking for a passionate Senior Trainer to lead the delivery of our Carpentry Apprenticeship Programme at Northstowe. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, hands-on apprenticeship training that supports learners from the workshop to the workplace. You’ll use your construction know-how to inspire, mentor and guide apprentices to success, ensuring they’re ready for their End Point Assessments and future careers in the trade.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver engaging, industry-relevant carpentry apprenticeship training in line with NHBC, Ofsted and ESFA standards.
  • Coach and assess apprentices, ensuring their learning progress and achievements stay on track.
  • Keep training materials up to date and aligned with current building regulations, NHBC Standards and best practice.
  • Work closely with employers to build strong relationships and ensure their training needs are met.
  • Promote NHBC’s training offer and contribute to continuous improvement across our apprenticeship provision.
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the training hub to drive quality and consistency.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience delivering or assessing apprenticeships with strong results.
  • A background in construction, ideally in house-building or timber frame carpentry.
  • A teaching or assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a passion for helping others succeed.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when needed.
