We're looking for skilled and passionate tradespeople to help shape the next generation of housebuilders. As a Brickwork Technician, you'll play a key part in supporting and delivering hands-on training for our apprentices. You'll bring your real-world trade experience to life by guiding learners through practical sessions, maintaining our training spaces, and ensuring everything runs smoothly day to day. Whether your background is in bricklaying or groundworks, this is a chance to make a real impact on the future of the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting senior trainers with the setup, delivery, and maintenance of the training hub.
  • Preparing and managing materials, tools, and resources to keep learning running smoothly.
  • Teaching and coaching apprentices in practical sessions, sharing your trade knowledge and best practices.
  • Building example structures and demonstrating techniques that reflect real-world housebuilding.
  • Keeping training areas clean, safe, and compliant with all H&S requirements.
  • Recording apprentice progress and helping to maintain accurate online learning records.
  • Acting as a First Aider and supporting safety arrangements in the hub.
  • Representing NHBC during site visits, training days, and practical assessments.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in brickwork within a housebuilding environment.
  • A solid understanding of tools, materials, and modern building techniques.
  • Confidence working with apprentices or young people, with a genuine passion for developing others.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage resources effectively.
  • A team player who can also work independently when required.
  • Level 2 qualification (or higher) in Bricklaying.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to maintain First Aid and H&S standards.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a training or college-based environment.
  • A recognised teaching, mentoring or coaching qualification.
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship programmes or online learner tracking systems.
