Working alongside a small team of Government & Policy Advisors, the role will involve the management and pro-active delivery of NHBC’s public affairs activities and support the development and implementation of NHBC’s Public Affairs Strategy. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Politicians and Senior External Stakeholders.

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing:

Working closely with the Senior Corporate Affairs Manager and the wider Corporate Affairs team to support the planning, development and delivery of NHBC’s Corporate Affairs Strategy.

Manage the delivery of NHBC’s key public affairs external programme, working with two other Policy Advisers, across the UK and the regions.

Monitor political developments at national and regional levels that could impact NHBC’s interests

Proactively engage with external audiences to communicate NHBC’s policy objectives

Represent NHBC at appropriate networking events and meetings at Westminster and devolved bodies and carve out opportunities to hold events that build the reputation of NHBC.

Proven experience of working within a political institution and/or a public affairs organisation (public affairs agency, Parliament, relevant civil service department, etc.)

Able to work as part of a team

Ability to absorb and recall lots of information

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Parliamentary legislation and procedure

Desirable – Cross-party experience working closely with political parties, parliamentarians and political stakeholders.
