Roving Tutor
The National Horseracing College seeks to employ a Roving Tutor to join its enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team.
The college is one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK and delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries.
It is located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster and was awarded Ofsted Grade2 for overall effectiveness and Grade1 for both Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development in December2022.

- Position: Roving Tutor
- Hours: 41hours per week (includes a ½hour unpaid meal break each day)
- Salary: £34,951.40 per annum
- Contributory pension scheme
- Initial holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing incrementally
- Life assurance (2× salary)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality training to students in the foundation course, improving resilience, discipline, and maturity.
- Work closely with students, many of whom exhibit challenging behaviours that can be stressful.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student needs and maintain a supportive learning environment.
- Use the provided laptop and mobile phone to effectively carry out teaching and administrative duties.
- Required Qualifications and Experience
- Level3 Diploma in Racehorse Care and Management or equivalent.
- Teaching qualification (e. g. Certificate in Education) or willingness to work toward and achieve one.
- Coaching qualification or willingness to work toward and achieve one.
- Valid driving licence.
- Relevant ICT experience.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Willingness to work with young people who present challenging behaviours.
