The National Holocaust Museum is a Holocaust educational charity that blossomed into a nationally accredited museum, and which is now a member of the Arts Council's National Portfolio. We are the only Holocaust garden museum, embracing you with beautiful memorial rose gardens as you enter. We are the only Holocaust museum in the world founded by Christians - the remarkable Smith family. We are an unusual, warm and uplifting community of Holocaust survivors and their families, together with many schools, friends and supporters. We are located in Laxton in the Sherwood Forest, close to Newark. It is the beauty of our home and of our founding ethos which makes it possible to run highly creative, thought-provoking learning programmes based on immersive experiences and conversation -- for Primary, Secondary and Adult stages. No one reaches more broadly across the social and faith spectrum.

Role Description

We are hiring for a Director of Learning & Engagement to significantly grow our educational reach and impact, and to lead, develop and inspire a stellar team of professional educators. You’ll:

  • Lead expert educators and curators in creating powerful, object-based and immersive learning
  • Work with living Holocaust survivors and the inspiring stories of many more
  • Increase the educational reach and impact of a museum like no other
  • Sit on the Senior Management Team, reporting to the Museum Director
