We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Associate Psychologist to join our team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Prison located in the Marshgate area of Doncaster. HMP Doncaster is a local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire which houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20 years. This is a brand new role, and is a fantastic opportunity to work in an everchanging, challenging environment, which is hugely rewarding!
Within this role you will support and enhance the psychological care of patients, providing psychological assessments and low to medium intensity psychological interventions.
Hours: This is a full time role working 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday in core business hours.
Salary: You will receive a salary of 43,609 - 49,175 depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job:
- Identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention, following mental health triages and in discussion with the multi-disciplinary team and, where demand exceeds capacity, prioritise according to clinical need, risk presentation and release planning in line with agreed service policy and under the guidance of the registered psychologist/clinical lead.
- Provide comprehensive psychological assessment, including risk assessment, and develop psychological formulations to support patients and other members of the MDT in making sense of patients' difficulties in line with agreed guidance from the registered psychologist.
- Identify and deliver appropriate individual and group interventions to patients in line with the Psychological & Talking Therapies Service (PTTS) pathways and in line with agreed guidance from the registered psychologist.
- Monitor and evaluate psychological interventions using appropriate measures as per PTTS guidelines.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology (entitlement to graduate basis for chartered membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society or MSc in Forensic/Health)
- Evidence of foundation training in evidence-based psychological frameworks i.e. CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT
- Knowledge of evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to managing mental health distress
- Experience of working with patients in either forensic or secure environment.
