Overview
In this role you lead the Acoustic Implant service within the Audiology Service at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, driving high-quality clinical care across outpatient, domiciliary, and inpatient settings in North Wales. You will supervise and develop the Acoustic Implant team (adults and paeds) and provide specialist guidance and training to colleagues. This post combines advanced clinical work with service development and research, offering meaningful impact in a progressive environment. Responsibilities
- Perform highly specialised Acoustic Implantation activities (bone conduction and middle ear implants)
- Provide expert clinical advice, training, and opinions to colleagues
- Lead and manage the Acoustic Implant team to ensure safe, efficient service delivery
- Train and supervise clinical staff across settings
- Support service development, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Work across outpatient, domiciliary, and in-patient environments within the BCUHB area
Key requirements
- MSc Audiological Science
- HCPC Registration Clinical Science
- Post-MSc specialist training qualification (equivalent)
- Comprehensive knowledge of acoustic implantation and CPD for CS
- Experience in NHS management, QA techniques, and team leadership
- Experience in service development, R&D project management, clinical audit, supervision & appraisal
- Ability to travel within the BCUHB area
- Satisfactory DBS clearance (adult & child)
