Overview
In this Theatre Lead role, you will supervise the theatre department to uphold governance, clinical effectiveness, and high standards of care. You’ll guide and support a skilled team while delivering patient care within a multi-site ophthalmic service. You will manage logistical and procedural processes to ensure policy adherence and smooth operations. This permanent, full-time position offers leadership growth in a mission-driven organization focused on expanding community-based eye health services.

Responsibilities
- Be a visible leader for the hospital team, promoting development and motivation
- Oversee scrub procedures in ophthalmic cases and support the theatre team as a senior Theatre Lead
- Coordinate with the Hospital Manager and Facilities & Estates to keep equipment fit for purpose
- Coach a diverse team to meet goals and maintain wellbeing
- Lead teams in CQC readiness and improvement plans
- Maintain accurate records, drug administration per guidelines, and audit/action plans to monitor effectiveness
- Follow Information Governance rules on data protection
Key requirements
- Registered practitioner with the NMC or HCPC
- Considerable experience in a scrub role, preferably ophthalmic
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
- Previous management or team leader experience
- Teaching or coaching experience
- Previous theatre experience; ophthalmic scrub experience preferred but not essential with eligible RGNs/ODPs and 2+ years post-qualification clinical experience in secondary care or similar
- Disclosure and Barring Service check required
