Overview
As a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, you will provide expert OMFS care with a focus on Mohs micrographic surgery and skin cancer across three Worcestershire sites. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to Head and Neck cancer services and teaching. The role offers opportunities to shape clinical services, engage in education and leadership, and participate in evolving NHS initiatives. This is a full-time post with on-call duties in a expanding department that values flexible working and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical OMFS services to Trust patients and GPs
- Collaborate in MDTs and with ENT and Dermatology
- Support A&E and acute medicine to ensure timely care and patient flow
- Engage in clinical governance, education, and training initiatives
- Extend services to GP surgeries/health centres and adapt job plans as needed
- Contribute to skin cancer services and local/regional MDTs
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision
- Utilise innovative planning tools (virtual planning and 3D printing) for dentofacial cases
Key requirements
- UK CCT in OMFS or equivalent
- Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register in OMFS (or expected within 6 months)
- Ability to provide expert clinical opinion across emergency and elective OMFS cases
- Independent clinical responsibility and subspecialty expertise
- Experience in audit management and leading a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to organise workload and lead specialist unit activities
- Willingness to travel and be on-call within 30 minutes
