Overview
In this Consultant role you will deliver anaesthesia across elective and emergency theatres, supporting a range of surgical disciplines. You will participate in on-call duties and SPA/DCC activities, contributing to education and development within the directorate. The post emphasizes wide general anaesthesia experience and high professional standards within a busy, teaching-oriented NHS Trust. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care and contribute to regional educational initiatives. Responsibilities
- provide anaesthetic care for a variety of surgical specialties across DGH-type settings
- participate in designated DCC and SPA activities and on-call duties
- contribute to education and training within the directorate
- work within a multi-theatre environment with emphasis on general anaesthesia
- collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and effective theatre workflows
Key requirements
- GMC registration
- CCT in anaesthesia (within 6 months of interview) and FRCA or equivalent
- at least 6 months advanced training in regional anaesthesia or equivalent
- comprehensive experience in anaesthesia for DGH-type surgical specialties
- desirable: MRCP or equivalent; ALS certification (or equivalent)
