Overview
In this role you lead day-to-day practice operations at Bryn Cross Surgery, ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality care for about 5,500 patients. You will align with GP partners to drive development, governance, and digital initiatives within a collaborative team. A focus on improving services, performance, and compliance under NHS priorities makes this a meaningful opportunity to shape local primary care. Responsibilities
- Oversee overall operations to ensure staff meet core duties
- Lead strategic planning, service development, and performance improvement
- Manage finances, budgets, contracts, and profitability
- Governance, compliance, quality improvement, and data protection
- HR management including recruitment, development, and performance
- Manage service contracts (e.g., utilities, cleaning, maintenance)
- Develop and update staff job descriptions and person specifications
- Ensure CQC registration and compliance; health and safety and risk assessments
- Premises, IT, and business continuity oversight
- Support partners in achieving clinical and organizational goals
- Lead change, digital transformation, and NHS-aligned innovation
- Collaborate with PCN colleagues, ICB representatives, and external partners
Key requirements
- Experience in NHS primary care or GP practice
- Proven budget, financial, and contract management experience
- Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and performance management
- Project delivery and change management experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and IT competence
- Knowledge of data protection, GDPR, and health & safety
- SystmOne or similar IT system experience
