Overview

In this Theatre Lead role, you will steer the theatre department to uphold governance, safety, and high standards of care within CHEC’s ophthalmic services. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure efficient operations, and support governance, audit, and data protection. The position offers senior clinical leadership in a growing, community-based eye health network with opportunities to shape patient care at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Visible leader for hospital team, driving motivation and development
  • Oversee scrub procedures in ophthalmic cases and support safe patient care as a senior Theatre Lead
  • Collaborate with Hospital Manager and Facilities & Estates to ensure equipment is fit for purpose
  • Coach a diverse team to achieve goals and maintain wellbeing
  • Lead teams in CQC readiness and improvement plans
  • Maintain good record keeping and drug administration per guidelines, with audit and action plans
  • Adhere to Information Governance and data protection requirements

Key requirements

  • Registered practitioner with NMC or HCPC
  • Considerable ophthalmic scrub experience (preferred)
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Previous management or team leader experience
  • Teaching or coaching experience
  • Previous theatre experience; ophthalmic scrub preferred but not essential with training for RGNs/ODPs with 2 years post-qualification clinical experience
