Job summaryGeneral Practitioner (GP)Job SummaryHorncastle Medical Group is looking for an enthusiastic and committed General Practitioner to join our friendly, established and supportive team.
We are ideally seeking a GP to work 8 sessions per week, although part-time applications are very welcome and will be considered.
You will be joining an experienced multidisciplinary clinical team including 4 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Paramedic and a Mental Health Practitioner, alongside our wider nursing, dispensing and administrative teams. We are an established training practice, currently caring for 10,366 patients, and are CQC rated Good. We use SystmOne and provide dispensing services on site.
This is an exciting time to join Horncastle Medical Group. Our surgery is based in a beautiful Old Vicarage, providing a distinctive and welcoming environment for both our patients and our team. We are also investing in the future of the practice, with expansion works currently in progress to create additional clinical rooms.

Main duties of the jobMain Duties of the JobAs a GP at Horncastle Medical Group, you will provide high-quality general medical services to our registered patient population while working closely with our experienced multidisciplinary team.

Undertaking face-to-face, telephone and online consultationsAssessing, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditionsPrescribing and reviewing medication appropriatelyMaking referrals to secondary and community services where requiredSupporting disease prevention, health promotion and long-term condition managementMaintaining accurate and timely clinical records using SystmOneWorking collaboratively with our GP Partners, GPs ANPs, Paramedic, Mental Health Practitioner and wider clinical teamParticipating in clinical meetings, audit and quality-improvement activitiesContributing to the learning and development culture of our training practiceContributing to the safe, effective and continued development of practice servicesAbout usHorncastle Medical Group is an established training practice providing primary care to a current patient population of 10,366.We are CQC rated Good and have an experienced multidisciplinary team, including:4 GP Partners3 Advanced Nurse PractitionersParamedicMental Health PractitionerA wider team of clinical and nursing professionalsAn experienced dispensing and administrative teamWe have dispensing facilities on site and use SystmOne as our clinical system.
Our surgery is situated in a lovely Old Vicarage, giving the practice a warm, welcoming and characterful environment. We are continuing to invest in our premises and services, with expansion works due to be underway to provide additional clinical rooms. This increased capacity will support the continued development of our team and the services we offer to our local community.
