Overview
In this Specialty Doctor role you will support the Consultant Lead and Clinical Director, contributing to critical care and anaesthesia services. You will join a full shift rota across theatres, ICU, and obstetrics, with supervision and opportunities to review your job plan annually. The role includes emergency cover, teaching, audit, and clinical governance activities to sustain high-quality care. You will work within a forward-looking trust actively expanding facilities and embracing digital healthcare, with a strong focus on staff wellbeing and development. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary posting offering varied settings and scopes of influence.

Responsibilities
- Provide emergency cover for colleagues when required
- Be part of a full shift rota across theatres, ICU, and obstetrics
- Contribute to teaching, audit and clinical governance activities (CG, M&M, clinical audit, incident reporting)
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical governance and audit projects
- Review and update the job plan with Clinical Director or representative at least annually
- Support the department to maintain proper functioning of the service
- Engage in clinical care across multiple settings (theatres, day surgery, obstetrics) as required by experience
Key requirements
- Eligible for GMC full registration
- 3 years in approved professional training post (UK) recognised by Royal College of Anaesthesia
- Overseas candidates must have equivalent 3 years in anaesthesia in past post
- Minimum 3 years' experience in anaesthesia or ST1/CT1 competences with progression to ST2/CT2 expected
- Broad-based experience in Critical Care and Anaesthesia
