Overview
In this role you will provide specialist psychological assessment and CBT-informed interventions within the MHST South, across three bases. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support children, young people and families with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, promoting resilience through schools-based delivery. You’ll develop into a senior clinician, supervise EMHPs and other staff, and contribute to safeguarding and risk management. The role combines clinical work with supervision and service development in educational settings.

Responsibilities
- Triage, assess and deliver psychological interventions for children/young people in educational settings
- Provide supervision to EMHPs, SWPs, senior practitioners and assistant psychologists
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain risk management and safeguarding processes
- Offer consultation to teachers and family workers on child and adolescent mental health issues
- Deliver educational workshops, assemblies and PSHE sessions to promote wellbeing and resilience
- Attend and complete Postgraduate Certification in Supervision if not already obtained
- Provide specialist psychological expertise to clients, carers, and staff within the school context
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans and support wider mental health initiatives
Key requirements
- Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology (or approved equivalent)
- Post-registration experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment
- HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist
- Training in CBT or related specialised areas of psychological practice
- Experience with children/adolescents across a range of presentations and severities
- Experience in teaching, training and/or supervision
- Ability to provide consultation to professionals and non-professionals
- Knowledge of child protection procedures and safeguarding in educational settings
- Willingness to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision (if not already completed)
- Full clinical responsibility within multidisciplinary care plans
- Good presentation and teaching skills and ability to use multimedia for large groups
- Experience of working in a multicultural framework
