Overview
In this senior role, you will lead governance and patient safety across divisions, supporting the organisation’s mission to deliver excellent patient care. You will embed the NHS Patient Safety Strategy and PSIRF, driving learning and improvement through robust incident management and corporate governance. You’ll partner with clinical and operational leaders to ensure safe, effective care and assurance for the Trust Board. This is a strategic, impact-driven opportunity to shape governance and patient safety at scale.

Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for governance, patient safety and risk management across divisions
- Oversee complex investigations and assurance processes
- Monitor governance performance and produce actionable analysis for decision-making
- Influence senior leaders and translate complex information into clear recommendations
- Collaborate with clinicians and stakeholders to improve care delivery
- Support divisional and corporate risk management and compliance
- Develop high-quality assurance reports for committees and Trust Board
- Contribute to the delivery of the Trust-wide patient safety agenda
Key requirements
- Experience in a patient safety role with quality and safety improvement experience
- Knowledge of clinical governance, incident response, risk management and assurance functions
- Ability to lead governance and risk systems at service, divisional and corporate levels
- Experience collaborating with patients and stakeholders to co-design improvements
- Knowledge of NHS national policies and safety standards
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and patient safety education
