Overview
As Estates Manager (Electrical), you will lead electrical operations across SWFTCS sites, ensuring safe, NHS-standard maintenance of building and electrical systems. You’ll manage staff and contractors within budget to deliver a reliable care environment and drive continuous improvement. You’ll serve as Authorised Person for key electrical disciplines and help shape capital and maintenance plans. This role offers impact at scale in a healthcare setting and a clear path to professional impact.

Responsibilities
- Oversee operational estates maintenance and repairs for hospital buildings, services, and equipment
- Lead lines of authority for electrical disciplines (HV, LV, lifts, fire alarms) and ensure statutory compliance
- Procure and manage maintenance contracts and monitor budgets
- Develop and implement maintenance plans and project work, including minor and capital schemes
- Provide expert electrical engineering input to Estates staff and senior management, and liaise with external agencies
- Maintain asset registers and support energy efficiency initiatives
- Plan long-term maintenance and contingency plans for critical services
- Produce reports and communicate estates activities across forums
- Manage contractor performance and ensure health and safety standards
- Champion continuous improvement of maintenance and repair services
Key requirements
- Electrical engineering degree or significant equivalent
- IOSH Managing Safely (continuing)
- HTM-related authorisation/qualification
- Project management qualification (desirable)
- NHS experience and management experience at senior level
- CAD and CAFM systems experience
- Effective communication with specialists and non-specialists
- Experience with LV/HV electrical systems, lifts, fire alarms
- Management of budgets and delegated financial responsibilities
