Overview
In this role you support the growth and delivery of a high-quality Homecare clinical service within an NHS trust, with a focus on high-cost medicines and respiratory care. You will collaborate with Advanced Clinical Pharmacists and clinical teams to optimise patient care, safety, and cost-efficiency across Homecare and MIU settings. You’ll contribute to audits, reporting, and biosimilar switching efforts to ensure evidence-based, affordable treatment. Based at Pinderfields Hospital, you may work across sites and participate in on-call duties. This position offers a chance to shape services and work in a forward-thinking pharmacy team.

Responsibilities
- Clinical validation of Homecare prescriptions across multiple specialties (new and existing patients)
- Collaborate with clinical teams to plan and implement biosimilar switches
- Optimise cost-effective use of High-Cost Medicines in Homecare and MIU
- Plan and conduct regular audits to demonstrate cost-effective medicine use and adherence to guidance
- Produce/analyse reports on medicines spend in relevant areas
- Provide high-quality clinical pharmacy service to defined clinical areas (e.g., respiratory and MIU)
- Support weekend, bank holiday, and emergency on-call rotas
Key requirements
- Masters degree in Pharmacy (UK)
- Registered pharmacist with GPhC
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent advanced practice) or working towards
- Non-medical prescribing qualification (or working towards)
- Broad clinical experience across several specialties
- Good clinical knowledge and strong communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
