Responsibilities
- Provision of care and ED patient management
- Referral to other specialties as appropriate
- Dedicated special interest day per week
- Participation in multidisciplinary teams and meetings
- Administrative duties related to the post
- Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and clinicians
- Active involvement in audit and clinical governance and service improvement
Key requirements
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Medical Degree MBBS (or equivalent)
- Full MRCEM examination and ATLS/ALS/APLS in date
- IAC in anaesthetics or equivalent airway skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- 4+ years of Emergency Medicine / related specialties
- Proven NHS hospital medicine experience in EM (short-term locums not acceptable)
- Experience in procedures relevant to EM (venous cannulation, phlebotomy, fracture manipulation)
- Keeps up to date with EM topics and has good communication skills
