Overview
In this Band 6–7 development role, you will progress within the Diabetes Podiatry Service to an advanced specialist position. You’ll gain skills and leadership in a multidisciplinary diabetes environment across community and hospital settings. The role focuses on diabetic foot prevention and management, with a pathway to autonomous clinics and a permanent Band 7 post. You will work with a supportive MDT and benefit from structured mentorship and a formal development plan.

Responsibilities
- Develop advanced assessment and management skills for diabetes and complex foot pathology
- Progress toward independently running autonomous clinics within the Diabetes Centre
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across community, GP practices, and hospital settings
- Contribute to prevention and management of diabetic foot complications
- Engage in a structured development programme with mentorship and supervision
- Pursue an accredited Non-Medical Prescribing qualification with Trust support
- Support the ongoing success and evolution of the Diabetes Podiatry Service
Key requirements
- HCPC registration as a Podiatrist
- Demonstrable post-registration clinical experience
- Experience in the assessment and treatment of the at-risk foot
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload
