Overview

In this role you will join the Head & Neck Radiology team to sustain excellent diagnostic and interventional radiology services across acute and elective pathways, with a substantial cancer workload.

You will report on MRI and CT, perform ultrasound-guided interventions, and contribute to the weekly cancer MDT.

The post supports flexible on-site work across Wakefield and adjacent sites, balancing clinical care with professional activities.

You will help shape a high-quality, multidisciplinary radiology service within a large trust that values wellbeing and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enable the Head & Neck Radiology team to deliver a sustainable service across acute, elective, and cancer pathways
  • Report specialist MRI and CT findings
  • Perform ultrasound-guided interventions
  • Support the weekly cancer MDT meeting
  • Contribute to the general radiology workload including acute CT
  • Participate in the on-call diagnostic rota (evenings and weekends)
  • Engage in SPAs and potential DCC time for teaching/leadership
  • Utilise teleradiology and remote reporting capabilities
  • Work across Wakefield, Dewsbury, Pontefract and Community Diagnostic Centre locations
  • Key requirements
  • Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Radiology or within 6 months of obtaining CCT/CESR
  • Medical Degree from recognised medical school
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • Subspecialty training and experience in Head & Neck imaging/intervention post FRCR 2B
  • Experience in general cross-sectional reporting
