Overview
In this role you will deliver high-quality clinical care for benign and malignant breast disease, and lead a breast reconstruction service within a collaborative, teaching-focused team. You will work primarily at the Wakefield site, with cross-site travel as needed, contributing to teaching, research, and MDT decision-making. The post offers a chance to shape an expanding breast service within a supportive, equity-driven Trust. You will play a leadership role while maintaining a strong focus on patient outcomes and service development.

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care for benign and malignant breast diseases
- Deliver a high-quality breast reconstruction service (including DIEP flap reconstruction)
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a supportive team environment
- Support teaching and research within the team
- Provide leadership and act as a role model to junior staff
- Post-operative cover across sites; travel between sites as required
- Manage administrative duties with provided resources
- Engage in cross-site working with travel time accounted in the job plan
- Ensure equitable working conditions within the department
Key requirements
- GMC registration or eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register within 6 months of CCT
- MB BS / MB ChB or equivalent; MRCS and FRCS Intercollegiate in Plastic Surgery/General; Part 2
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Independent clinical practice with competence in oncoplastic breast surgery and breast reconstruction
- Experience in managing benign and malignant breast disease
- Experience working in an MDT and contributing to clinical decision-making
