Overview
In this role you will lead the Speech, Language and Communication pathway, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care through day-to-day operational management of SLT staff.
You’ll work closely with clinical specialists and leaders to deliver integrated, family-centered services across health and social care settings.
You will supervise clinicians and may contribute clinically, supporting care across homes, schools, and clinics.
The position offers a chance to influence service delivery during a period of positive change and collaboration within CFHD.

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational management of the clinical team and foster collaborative leadership
- Ensure delivery of evidence-based clinical care across the SLT pathway
- Work in partnership with other clinical pathways, local health specialties, and partner organisations
- Facilitate active participation of children, young people, and families in service delivery
- Identify and manage clinical and non-clinical risks with Operations Manager
- Monitor demand and maintain optimal clinical capacity
- Collaborate with leaders to uphold clinical standards and safety
- Ensure pathway performance targets are met
- Provide staff supervision, HR policy adherence, wellbeing and development support
- Attend, chair, or contribute to meetings and deputise for the Operations Manager when required
- Key requirements
- Experience of collaborative work with service users and families, including goal-based care and routine outcome measures
- Experience within a multi-disciplinary team across agencies
- Clinical practice in pediatric complex health conditions with risk assessments
- Experience supervising others and building supervisory relationships
- Experience safeguarding and partner engagement to ensure youth safety
- Experience delivering care within an equality and human rights framework
- Ability to organise inter-agency meetings and tailor treatment packages
- Experience involving service users as partners in service delivery and design
