Job summaryWe are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Specialty doctor in Anaesthetist with a passion for Obstetrics to join our expert and energetic team. The successful applicant will be based at Princess Royal Hospital for theatre and obstetric sessions. The post holder will have the opportunity to be part of the improvements recommended by the Ockenden report for the maternity unit. Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.Main duties of the jobMain Clinical duties include: Undertake elective and emergency maternity theatre sessions, labour analgesia, follow ups and high-risk obstetric clinics To participate in the multidisciplinary labour ward rounds To provide support to the novice trainees and medical students and actively contribute to training and continuity of service Undertake theatre sessions in other subspecialities, special interests can be accommodated To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team. The post holder will also contribute to service development. This may involve contributing to Ockenden recommendations, QIPs, audit projects, guideline updates or teaching and training.
