Overview
In this role you will support radiology patient pathways by managing high-volume bookings and acting as the first point of contact for patients and referrers. You will work with clinicians and staff to optimise patient flow and ensure outpatient slots are used efficiently, contributing to NHS targets. This busy, team-focused position suits someone with strong customer care instincts and the ability to stay organised under pressure. You will join a supportive radiology bookings team at County Hall, Taunton, and help deliver a high-quality service that underpins patient care.

Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls to patients, referrers, relatives, carers and staff
- Proactively engage with clinicians/GPs/staff and patients to enable effective patient flow
- Manage patient lists in line with national and local targets
- Coordinate bookings to optimise outpatient slot usage
- Collaborate with team to maintain service standards and guidelines
Key requirements
- Proven customer care experience in a busy administrative environment
- ECDL or equivalent
- NVQ2 in customer care, Medical terminology, or administration or equivalent
- Evidence of a good standard of literacy/English language skills
- Desirable: NVQ3 in customer care, Medical terminology, or administration or equivalent
- Desirable: experience of working in NHS Administrative office
