Overview
In this permanent role you will manage a diverse GP caseload in a forward-thinking practice, delivering high-quality primary care within the Primary Care Network. You will work as part of a friendly, proactive team to cover 6β8 sessions, contributing to service development and multi-disciplinary collaboration. The role focuses on autonomous clinical decision-making, patient-centred care, and continuous improvement through audits. This is a chance to shape care delivery in a supportive environment with opportunities to engage in network initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload and deliver a range of GP duties (surgeries, phone lines, home visits)
- Review and sign repeat prescriptions and handle clinical queries
- Make autonomous clinical decisions for presenting problems
- Assess undifferentiated patient needs and develop care plans
- Screen for disease risk factors and early illness signs
- Provide counselling and health education
- Admit/discharge patients and refer to other providers as appropriate
- Document consultations clearly and participate in audits
- Prescribe using formulary and generate acute/repeat prescriptions
- Support policy compliance, lifelong learning, and audit activities
- Contribute to computer-based patient records, read-coding, and data summarisation
- Participate in training and events within the practice or networks
- Maintain infection control and health and safety standards
Key requirements
- Experience of working in Primary Care
- UK professional registration (current)
- Disclosure and Barring Service check (CRB/DBS) as applicable

- SystmOne Clinical system
