Overview
In this role you will provide psychiatric leadership within a well-established CAMHS team at Marlborough House, delivering targeted mental health care for children and young people. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to manage risk, assess carers, and shape services for families served by the team. The position offers opportunities to develop in service development, quality improvement, and teaching within a supportive consultant community. Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and medical input to the team
- Oversee the patients seen by yourself and supervise those under your supervision
- Lead clinical governance with other consultants as clinical leads
- Assess emergencies referred to the team within a day; conduct Mental Health Act assessments when needed
- Collaborate within the MDT for clinical management, including risk assessment and carer needs
- Support cross-cover arrangements to ensure always available psychiatric cover
Key requirements
- Medical degree
- Full GMC registration
- Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register (or Specialist Registrar within 6 months of CCT)
- Eligible for Section 12 Approval (Mental Health Act) / Approved Clinician or willing to apply
- Leadership skills
