Overview

In this role you will provide clinical leadership within the Integrated Non-Custodial Service, guiding the Liaison and Diversion pathway across police custody, courts and community settings. You will supervise a multidisciplinary team, manage a clinical caseload, and ensure trauma-informed assessment, safeguarding and coordinated referrals. You collaborate with police, courts and health and social care partners to strengthen continuity of care. This position requires registration as an RMN or Social Worker, with experience in complex assessment and multi-agency working, and travel flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight of the liaison and diversion pathway with governance compliance
  • Offer clinical and managerial supervision to the Intensive team and other MDT members
  • Develop and disseminate care packages including evidenced-based interventions for women
  • Maintain a clinical caseload with ongoing professional development and supervision
  • Provide first-line support for staff on clinical risk and safeguarding, ensuring escalation and multi-agency collaboration
  • Collaborate with Team Managers to support triage, assessment and referral allocation

Key requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Social Worker (CQSW or DipSW)
  • Current registration with NMC or Social Work England
  • Significant post-registration professional development
  • Substantial frontline experience in front-line services
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision to colleagues
  • Experience mentoring and assessing students
  • Significant experience in complex assessment, risk management and care planning in complex needs
