Responsibilities
- Surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, and timely prescription processing
- Autonomous decision-making on presenting health concerns
- Assessing undifferentiated problems and screening for disease risk factors
- Developing patient-centred care plans in line with protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting/discharging patients and coordinating referrals
- Documenting clear, contemporaneous notes; data collection for audit
- Issuing computer-generated prescriptions and adhering to formulary
- Undertaking normal GP duties within primary care
Key requirements
- Full GMC registration
- National Performers List registration (England)
- Independent prescriber
- Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
- Evidence of current validation
- Evidence of last appraisal
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong IT skills
- SystmOne clinical system
- Prescribing formulary compliance
- Data collection for audit and read-coding patient data
