Overview

In this role you ensure patients are welcomed and directed to the right team, keeping the front desk and telephone lines running smoothly.

You support the daily operations of our practice, coordinate appointments, and handle patient and clinician queries with care.

You will work across front-of-house and admin systems to uphold high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors
  • Book and amend appointments per procedures
  • Respond to and redirect requests
  • Maintain up-to-date computerised appointment system
  • Set up new patients on the system
  • Sort and distribute post and results for scanning
  • Manage authorised prescriptions distribution
  • Answer phone calls with proper documentation
  • Update computerised links system
  • Provide warm, welcoming contact and assist in day-to-day front-of-house operations
  • Coordinate information between patients, carers, doctors and other professionals
  • Organise in-practice appointments and follow-ups for high-quality care
  • Key requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of working with patients
  • Experience of working in general practice or multi-disciplinary settings (desirable)
  • GCSE maths and English or equivalent
  • Commitment to professional and personal development
  • Experience with healthcare professionals or NHS/social care environments (desirable)
  • Awareness of patient confidentiality and data protection
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
