Overview
In this ER Manager role you will lead expert employee relations support for managers across St George's and St Helier Hospitals.
You will drive best-practice ER processes, develop capability in managers, and guide complex casework.
You’ll oversee a team of ER Advisors and contribute to a cohesive ER service across the group.

Responsibilities
- Lead the review, development and implementation of best-practice ER systems and processes for the group
- Develop long-term, value-added ER processes aligned with legal guidelines
- Monitor ER casework and establish regular KPI reporting
- Manage and mentor a team of Employee Relations Advisors
- Enhance managers' capability to handle people issues independently
- Drive an early-resolution approach in advisory work to build confidence in managing complex cases
- Provide expert advice on disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance and workplace disputes
- Support cross-site ER casework across all group sites as required
- Key requirements
- Experience in HR role
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Experience of supervising and coaching or managing HR staff
- CIPD Level 5 or Equivalent Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and good employment practice
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to produce spreadsheets and interpret statistics
- Desirable: experience in unionised environment; knowledge of NHS terms and conditions; MHPS and Medical Terms and conditions
- Clear and persuasive communication
- Ability to analyse complex HR issues
- Strong advisory and stakeholder-management skills
