In this role, you will lead and coordinate the clinical audit and effectiveness plan within the Trust, aligning initiatives from NICE guidelines and the National Audit Framework with local audits. You’ll manage priority projects and drive progression while supporting a part-time administrator. Working with the Associate Director of Quality and Assurance, you shape the audit strategy, track implementation, and report on progress to improve care quality across services. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a meaningful impact on governance and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate the clinical audit and effectiveness plan across the Trust
  • Lead priority projects required for implementing clinical audit
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Quality and Assurance to shape and lead the audit strategy
  • Track progress of initiatives and provide feedback throughout the year
  • Supervise a part-time administrator to support audit activities
  • Ensure alignment with NICE guidelines, the National Audit Framework, and local audit initiatives

Key requirements

  • Relevant degree or equivalent
  • 5 years experience in a healthcare setting
  • Working knowledge of clinical audit methodology
  • Proven experience producing reports using electronic systems including Microsoft Excel
  • Desirable: post-graduate qualification in audit methodology or willingness to work towards
  • Desirable: extensive knowledge of NHS regulatory bodies and frameworks
