Overview
In this Salaried GP role you will provide autonomous medical care to a growing patient population within a modern, supportive practice. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to high-quality, evidence-based care while adhering to GMC standards and the GMS contract. The role offers learning time, clinical governance, and opportunities to train medical students, with a focus on continuous improvement and professional development. Responsibilities
- Deliver effective medical care to the practice population
- Provide services in line with the GMS contract
- Prescribe generics following guidance
- Manage long-term conditions
- Process administration (referrals, lab reports, workflow documents, prescriptions)
- Attend surgery, video, and telephone consultations; cover urgent care and home visits
- Maintain accurate clinical records per policy
- Collaborate with the team and share workload
- Contribute to quality initiatives and clinical governance
- Attend practice meetings and support training of students
- Support appraisal, revalidation, and CPD
- Assist in financial management and HR related to the practice
- Promote continuous improvement and adhere to protocols
Key requirements
- Qualified GP
- Full GMC Registration
- National Performers List registration
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
- MRCGP (desirable)
- GMS contract understanding (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
