Overview
In this leadership role you drive strategy and delivery of Speech and Language Therapy across adults, children and families in STSFT. You will guide a multidisciplinary SaLT team, align with the directorate, and advocate for the service in internal and external forums. You’ll balance expert clinical leadership with service development to improve patient care and outcomes. The role offers scope to shape practice, foster collaboration, and lead change at scale.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and professional leadership for SaLT services across the Trust
- Plan, implement and monitor delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care
- Represent SaLT in senior and external meetings with stakeholders and partners
- Maintain clinical expertise as an expert practitioner and contribute to service development
- Collaborate with Directorate Manager, Clinical Director for Therapies and other Heads of Service to align with Trust goals
- Support senior leadership tasks and drive service improvements
- Lead change management and workforce development within a complex organisation
Key requirements
- Experience in managing and developing diverse and complex operational services
- Proven track record in translating strategic plans into operational reality
- Ability to negotiate and influence at senior level with executives and external partners
- Senior-level management experience including HR, finance, change management, and governance
- Current UK professional registration in Speech and Language Therapy (HCPC)
- Masters-level specialist knowledge in Speech and Language Therapy
- Willingness to travel as required
