Overview
As Estates Officer (Electrical & Controls) you will lead electrical/controls maintenance and projects across hospital sites.
You act as Authorised Person under HTM guidance, ensuring safe, compliant delivery and technical leadership within Estates.
You will mentor engineers and manage contractors, translating complex requirements into practical solutions while supporting service planning and risk management.
CHo ICE supports your technical and leadership development and offers scope to progress into senior estates roles.
You participate in on‑call and occasional overtime as required.

Responsibilities
- Undertake the role of Authorised Person (AP) as defined in HTM 00 for multiple engineer services
- Ensure maintenance, statutory compliance and best practice for engineering services
- Manage external contractors and directly employed labour efficiently
- Participate in the CFS shift pattern/system and on-call rota, with overtime as needed
- Provide technical leadership, direction and mentoring to engineering colleagues
- Lead risk management and support service planning to translate technical needs into practical solutions
- Key requirements
- Significant electrical experience with large-scale NHS-type environments
- Degree level qualification in a relevant field (or equivalent experience), with specialist knowledge to masters level through courses/CPD
- Strong problem-solving, judgement and analytical skills for high-risk technical situations
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities; capable of coordinating teams and contractors
- Flexible with working hours and able to participate in out-of-hours on-call arrangements
