b Overview /b p In this role you will provide high-quality ophthalmology care within CHEC’s community services, supervise allied clinicians, and contribute to a growing NHS-based network. You’ll work across general ophthalmology, glaucoma, AMD, laser procedures, and cataract surgery, including high-volume phacoemulsification. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and influence service delivery through governance and CPD. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Excellent remuneration /li li Bonus scheme for cataract surgery /li li Industry leading technology /li li Experienced clinical support team /li li State of the art hospitals /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li conduct ophthalmology consultations and surgeries within CHEC services /li li supervise delivery of adult community ophthalmology by other professionals /li li provide high-quality clinical care in general ophthalmology, glaucoma, AMD, and laser therapy /li li perform minor eye operations and high-volume phacoemulsification under topical anaesthesia if applicable /li li participate in reviewing and updating job plan with Clinical Director at least annually /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li UK registered Medical Degree or equivalent /li li MRCOphth/FRCOphth/FRCS /li li Full or Specialist GMC Registration /li li up-to-date with current medical practice /li li wide training and experience in general ophthalmology /li li ability to offer expert clinical opinion on general ophthalmology /li li independent responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision /li li understanding of audit and Clinical Governance /li li knowledge of evidence-based practice /li li multidisciplinary team working /li li excellent communication skills /li li flexible, objective and assertive /li li strong verbal and written communication /li li evidence of continuing professional development /li li ability to travel independently to all hospital sites within a region /li li willing to meet volume and clinical productivity targets /li li Desirable: competent independent cataract surgeon /li /ul ul li excellent communication /li li flexible and assertive /li li team-oriented /li li MRCOphth/FRCOphth/FRCS /li li general ophthalmology expertise /li li glaucoma management /li /ul
