Are you a qualified mental health professional with a drive to lead and develop services for children and young people? This is a new and exciting role as a Team Manager in the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team covering the South CAMHS teams - Stockport and Tameside.

Main duties of the job
- Undertake responsibility for the line management of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Be part of the senior leadership team within CAMHS.
- Ensure team compliance with relevant Trust policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
- Hold regular team meetings and develop the team.
- Overall responsibility of day-to-day organisation of staff and work priorities of the team.
- Responsible for patient flow within the team considering capacity and demand.
- Work with clinical leaders to determine prioritisation of allocation of work.
- Manage and maintain systems for the planning and allocation of work and for the setting and reviewing of targets, standards and priorities to the team.
- Responsible for management of waiting lists if in place.
- Ensure team members hold balanced and manageable caseloads.
- Ensure all team members receive management and clinical supervision.
- Facilitate the management of complaints, comments and compliments.
- Provide Team Manager cover in other service areas as required.
- Ensure the team maintain accurate and contemporaneous records.
- Ensure data quality.

Job responsibilities
- To provide line management and clinical leadership to an identified team within the CAMHS Care Hub.
- To lead in accordance with trust policies, procedures and values.
- To be accountable to the Operational Manager for the performance management of the team and the quality of the work undertaken.
- To have oversight and manage supervision for team members undertaking clinical interventions such as assessment and a range of interventions/managing caseloads.
- To provide clinical support and leadership to the team alongside clinical leaders.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Essential: Registered core profession (social work, OT, nursing) with current registration; Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Desirable: Management or leadership qualification.
Experience
- Essential: Substantial experience of working within a health delivered child and adolescent mental health service or adult mental health services; Experience in the provision of clinical and line management supervision and annual appraisal.
Knowledge
- Essential: Highly developed knowledge of mental health issues in children and young people; Knowledge of relevant legislation and National Policies in relation to children and young people; Highly developed knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions with this client group; Working knowledge of NICE guidance in the treatment of mental health problems for children and young people; Knowledge of risk management issues.
- Desirable: Knowledge and experience of working with young people with learning disability; Evidence of post-qualifying training courses/certificates.

- Essential: Evidence of the ability to lead, motivate and manage a group; Ability to manage own emotions and deal with others in highly charged situations; Experience of governance processes, including responding to complaints and completing investigations following incidents; Ability to manage the performance of staff in a consistent and sensitive manner; Ability to produce written reports that are clear, unambiguous and produced with agreed timescales; Ability to identify and manage risk in individuals presenting with mental health needs; Ability to work in situations that are often highly emotionally charged and where individuals may be antagonistic/aggressive.
