We are recruiting for a Digital Product Manager who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. The role supports the design, development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of clinical and operational digital systems, with a strong focus on electronic patient record (EPR) and related digital products. The post holder will work across clinical, operational, technical, and supplier teams to ensure systems meet user needs and align with organisational priorities.

A key part of the role involves managing the full product lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to delivery, adoption, optimisation, and continuous improvement. The post holder will translate user and service needs into clear product backlogs, user stories, and delivery outcomes, while supporting the development of efficient, user-centred workflows. The post holder will act as a subject matter expert for assigned systems, providing technical support, resolving issues, and ensuring effective system performance. They will also coordinate system changes, testing, release activities, and ensure compliance with governance and information management standards.

Main duties of the job include working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including clinical teams, operational managers, digital and informatics teams, programme and project managers, system suppliers, developers, and senior leadership colleagues. The role requires strong collaborative working across multidisciplinary teams to support product development, prioritisation, delivery, and adoption of digital solutions. The post holder will build effective relationships with service users and stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, gather feedback, and ensure digital products meet operational, clinical, and organisational needs.

Qualifications/Training:

  • Essential: Degree or equivalent professional experience in Health Informatics, Digital, IT, Business or related field
  • Desirable: Formal training in Agile product management, Scrum, or Lean methodologies

Previous Experience:

  • Essential: Significant experience in digital product management, Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems, or large-scale healthcare IT environments
  • Desirable: Experience leading or coordinating system implementations, releases, and digital transformation initiatives

Skills:

  • Essential: Ability to define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmaps
  • Desirable: Strong commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivery in complex environments

Knowledge:

  • Essential: In-depth understanding of NHS digital systems, clinical systems, and/or EPR environments
  • Desirable: Strong understanding of ITIL/service management processes

Other Requirements:

  • Essential: Experience and evidence of engagement around equality, diversity and inclusion issues in relation to policy, service development and service delivery
