Overview

In this role you will help build and lead Priory’s brand-new CAMHS inpatient service in Chelmsford, shaping clinical pathways and culture. You will work closely with hospital leadership to drive service development and deliver high-quality, recovery-focused care for young people. Your clinical leadership and MDT collaboration will set the direction for the service and its outcomes. This is an opportunity to influence a ground-up project at scale within Priory’s CAMHS expansion, contributing to a lasting impact on young people’s mental health.

Responsibilities

  • Lead patient care planning and multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Assess and manage complex CAMHS presentations
  • Chair MDT and CPA meetings
  • Liaise with young people, families and external stakeholders
  • Provide clinical leadership alongside Ward Manager
  • Support development of patient pathways and models of care
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development
  • Promote high standards of clinical care and patient safety

Key requirements

  • Significant CAMHS inpatient and/or community experience
  • Passion for high-quality care for young people
  • Motivation for service development and continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead, develop and inspire multidisciplinary teams
  • Value clinical autonomy and influence on clinical decision-making
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills
  • Sound clinical judgement and resilience
  • Understanding of Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
  • Full GMC registration with Specialist Register, CAMHS CCT or CESR and Approved Clinician status
