Responsibilities

  • conduct surgery and telephone consultations
  • visit patients at home and manage repeat prescriptions
  • process queries, paperwork and correspondence promptly
  • make autonomous clinical decisions for presenting problems
  • assess undifferentiated health needs and screen for disease risk factors
  • develop care plans in line with practice protocols
  • provide counselling and health education
  • admit/discharge patients and refer to other care providers as needed
  • record clear consultation notes and collect audit data
  • issue computer-generated prescriptions and prescribe per formulary

Key requirements

  • Experience of continued professional development
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit
  • Experience of working in a primary care environment
  • Minimum of two years as a salaried GP (Desirable)
  • Experience of medicines management (Desirable)
  • Experience of CCG initiatives (Desirable)
  • Qualified GP
  • CCT or equivalent (MRCGP)
  • JCPTGP or VT certificate (Desirable)
