Overview
In this Education Lead role, you will promote and advance educational standards across the mental health service, strengthening clinical practice and supporting learners from band 2–6. You will lead development programmes, support assessment of learner competence, and work with cross‑functional teams to embed effective education and patient safety learning. You will shape quality improvement initiatives and represent the service on committees, driving outcomes in line with the trust’s priorities. This is a chance to influence education strategy and mentor upcoming staff.
Responsibilities
- Support Heads of Nursing, Professions and Quality to lead educational requirements for the mental healthcare agenda
- Lead on development programmes for staff and learners
- Provide leadership to teams and individuals to achieve high performance and align with Trust objectives
- Support leadership development of teams and deputy team leaders
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Trust and maintain productive relationships
- Contribute to committees and forums and represent the service when needed
- Deliver progress reports to Senior Management and key stakeholders
- Lead on Quality Improvement initiatives and implement patient safety learning actions (PSIRF)
- Support learners (students, preceptees) including co-facilitating the student forum
Key requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse/OT/Social Worker with Professional Registration
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification (PETALS, PGCE, etc.)
