Job summaryThe primary purpose of this role will be to support the Consultant Psychologist to provide line management and clinical supervision to the team of psychologists, therapists and psychiatry and psychology trainees. The team of clinicians provide high quality, specialist clinical psychology services to people experiencing gambling harm with complex presentations. The post holder will participate in the development of a high quality, responsive and accessible service, delivering valued outcomes for clients and their families and carers. This role will support the development of a brand-new treatment service, using a digital psychotherapeutic informed approach to treat people who experience problem gambling. The service will operate from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. However, an out of hours clinic is planned in the future (one evening a week until 8pm). Treatment options offered to patients would include treatment workshops, evidence-based psychological therapy (short and long term) and pharmacotherapy. As a senior clinician, with substantial clinical experience and post-qualification training, the post-holder will provide a high level of expertise within the Southern Gambling Service. Working with the senior management team, clinical staff and peer support staff, to take a supporting role in the creation, development, containment and support of a multi-professional therapeutic environment and trauma-informed approach which can provide the highest quality psychologically informed care for adults experiencing harmful gambling and associated mental health problems.
