Overview

In this role you will lead the Specialty Admin team while delivering comprehensive administrative support to the Colorectal and General Surgery specialists. You will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate workload, and ensure a high-quality, efficient service across the team. You will also act as escalation point for queries and help align admin activities with the Trust’s goals. This is a hands-on leadership position in a patient-focused, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management, team leadership and support to the admin team
  • Act as escalation point for queries
  • Plan clinical staff rotas and cover, support scheduling and rescheduling of activity
  • Handle day-to-day admin via correspondence, telephone, email
  • Assist with typing of minutes and clinical correspondence
  • Coordinate patient information for timely access
  • Identify potential RTT breaches and flag to Operational Support Manager
  • Participate in team and Trust meetings

Key requirements

  • Extensive senior-level secretarial experience
  • Line management, supervision or mentoring experience
  • Advanced IT proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong literacy and English language skills
